Summer Vacation in Cadillac, MI

We are back from our week away up in Cadillac. I am FINALLY getting some pictures on here. I wish they didn't take so long to upload, so I apologize for only putting up a few. We had great weather and good times. Lots of fishing, swimming, finding thrift stores (my mom and me...), a day trip to Traverse City, Smores, kayaking, boat rides (we rented a pontoon), and this may be silly but having HGTV for the week! We didn't realize how much we have missed that channel. Brandon and I would snuggle on the couch every night after the kids were in bed and watch House Hunters. Don't worry, we didn't watch much tv....just in the evenings:)

We anchored the pontoon at a clean, shallow spot in the lake and the kids jumped off the boat and had fun swimming.

Riley, Graham, Brandon and I went to Traverse City for a half a day. I'm sure you're wondering where Noah is...well he just doesn't like shopping and we felt he would be happier playing with his cousin, Brandon back at the cottage with Grandma and Grandpa. I know he had a fun time. We really didn't buy much of anything. It was rather warm, but we still enjoyed being there for the first part of the day!

There was a nice playground on Lake Cadillac which connects to Lake Mitchell-which is what lake we were on. The kids had fun playing, as they always do!

Ok, I'm really not fond of this picture of myself, but I just had to post it to show the bass I caught off the dock. We had a fishing contest for the week and I ended up winning with this 12 inch bass! Brandon was a close second with a bass as well. Our nephew was third with a good size sunfish which was 8 inches long! We enjoyed all the fishing. Even Riley had fun just putting her hook in the water by the dock without any bait and the silly little bluegill and sunfish would just bite it and get caught!!
